@Adriana: I can't confirm the exact date, but it certainly sounds about right!

While the 816 book does review some concepts briefly, it assumes you have already mastered the material in the 815 book.

Thank you for keeping us posted, and sharing your experiences and knowledge!

I am wondering if the "Java OCP 11 Programmer II Study Guide 1Z0-816" will cover the topics of "Java OCP 11 Programmer I Study Guide 1Z0-815" as well? Based on the sequence of the editions that could be assumed, but the exclusive mentioning of each exam on each title suggests otherwise. So it is not clear if each book is needed for each exam, or the second edition will cover both exams.

Thank you for clarifying!

@Ambre: Our 1Z0-816 exam will have a chapter covering the "extra material" on the 1Z0-817. So you'll only need to buy one book for the upgrade exam. (Just like you noted we did for Java 8. The catch of course is that the book doesn't exist yet!) It comes out in 2020.

The first book (1Z0-815) comes out this month, but only covers a small fraction of the upgrade material

First, thanks a lot for your great work, your previous books help me get the upgrade exam OCP for java 8.
So I want to pass the Upgrade exam. In your last books the chapters to use for the upgrade exam where indicated. Is it still the case in your new books ?
To pass the upgrade, do I need to buy both books or just the second one ?
Thanks
