Naveen: You can take the OCP 8 directly. However, you will need to take the OCA 8 after it to actually become certified. (I did this for Java 7. I took the beta OCP and then circled back and took the OCA).

Andrew, The SCJP 5 (and 6) got split into two exams: OCA 8 and OCP 8. The more advanced topics (including multi-threading) are on the later exam.

Is threading not covered in the se8 exam?
